YLT:
Youth League Tennis is a non-profit public benefit charitable 501 (c) 3
organization that was developed by Laura
Kassirer, a former Wimbledon player, to provide communities of all kinds with local, quality, social youth tennis
leagues that will inspire youth to play tennis by giving them the opportunity
to compete with players of equal level in an organized, social convenient
setting. YLT is open to every child
between the ages 7-14. All participants
are encouraged to work towards playing
High School tennis and are introduced to
quality tennis programs and tennis
professionals that can help them get
ready for High School level competition.
NO CHILD is ever turned away for lack of
funds.

YLT LEVELS:
Youth League Tennis groups players into 5 levels, from beginners through
ranked USTA tournament players. Various rules of competition are instituted
to insure that all youth compete successfully regardless of their level of
play. All participants are assessed and grouped the first week.
Beginners play 1.5 hours weekly with an
instructor. Novice players warm-up ground
strokes and serves for 30 minutes with an
instructor and compete for 1.5 hours weekly.
All other levels play matches for 2 hours weekly
with players of equal level. Players can

VOLUNTEERS: High School Tennis Players can earn valuable community service hours in exchange for volunteering to serve as umpires / children's coaches for YLT
matches. They serve as positive role models and
help encourage Youth to work towards playing
High School Tennis.
Parent Volunteers are also needed at each site to assist the YLT Site Director. As with all non-profit youth sports leagues in California, parents are needed to provide supervision, umpires and guidance.
